JACKSON, Wyo. — The Snake River Headwaters Watershed Group has launched a beta version of a new water quality and quantity dashboard, and project leaders at the Teton Conservation District (TCD) and Trout Unlimited are asking the public for feedback.

The dashboard compiles water quantity data from every available stream gauge in the watershed, including gauges on the Snake River, Pacific Creek, Buffalo Fork, Gros Ventre and Hoback rivers. Where possible, it also tracks water quality measures like temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, turbidity and specific conductance.

Users can also check reservoir levels at Jackson Lake and Palisades Reservoir, along with river recreation and hazard information from the Snake River Fund.

Water resources specialist David Lee at TCD said the goal is to bring scattered information together.

“Many entities collect, maintain, and report water quality and quantity data in this watershed, and data is often scattered across different sources and formats, making it hard to reach,” Lee said in a press release.

The current version of the dashboard is a draft that will be expanded in future phases to include chemical grab sample data, groundwater elevation data, cyanobacteria advisories and E. coli data, where available.

The public is encouraged to give feedback on the site’s functionality and to suggest additional possible datasets.

Feedback can be submitted through the form on the dashboard’s main landing page. The beta Snake River Headwaters Data Dashboard is available here.
