DRIGGS, Idaho — The Community Foundation of Teton Valley has officially become an independent organization, as of April 1. The announcement comes after being an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole for nearly 20 years.

Founded in 2007 to support west-side nonprofits, the organization has grown with strong backing from donors and programs like the flagship Tin Cup Challenge, which is an annual nine-week giving period similar to Jackson’s Old Bill’s giving season.

“The Foundation’s experienced board and staff are prepared for the work ahead and remain dedicated to strengthening the nonprofit landscape thanks to the trust, support, and genuine commitment of the community,” said Community Foundation of Teton Valley’s Executive Director Bonnie Self. “This exciting moment of independence gives us the ability to make timely decisions, take ownership, and be nimble in responding to Teton Valley’s needs.”

The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole will continue its support with a $50,000 annual grant over the next three years.

“While independence marks an exciting milestone, the heart of the work remains the same: neighbors helping neighbors,” reads a press release. “The Community Foundation of Teton Valley will continue collaborating with donors, nonprofits and community partners to ensure generosity makes a lasting impact across the valley.”
