Another grizzly killed by hiker, two dependent cubs at large Yellowstone National Park Grizzly bear Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

SUBLETTE COUNTY, WYO – Game and Fish officials confirmed the killing of an adult female grizzly yesterday near Pinedale.

The sow had two dependent cubs and surprised a hiker. The hiker was with three friends and a dog. The incident occurred in the Boulder Basin area north of Pinedale.

The incident was reported immediately. The hiker claimed self-defense and the case is under investigation. While investigating the scene, department personnel were unable to locate the cubs. No human injuries were reported.

It is the second sow grizzly with cubs killed in Wyoming this spring.
