JACKSON, Wyo. — Despite rain, snow, and everything in between between this April, crews at Jackson Hole Airport keep construction in the terminals and on the runway underway.

The project, which began in October of 2021, has progressed on the timeline and the airport has been closed for both terminal projects and runway reconstruction. Projects within the main terminal remain on schedule. As the third week of construction came to a close, the crews completed the roof for the new Security Checkpoint and Hold Room area. Basement excavation advanced as teams poured concrete flooring and begun framing.

Runway reconstruction remains on schedule with milling approximately 80% complete for removal of the current pavement. The crews work to complete the installation of FAA Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS). NAVAIDS serve as physical devices on the ground that aircraft can detect and fly to. The navigation instruments indicate the position of the aircraft in relation to the runway as they prepare to land. At this time, 50% of all FAA Navigational Aids work is either underway or complete.

Crews work to install runway slot drains that will capture liquids flowing off runway surfaces. Slot drain installation on the JAC runway are 20% complete at this time.
