JACKSON, Wyo. — The Adams Canyon fire station will have at least one career fire/EMS personnel on staff daily, come January, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS announced Tuesday.

According to the press release, response times from Station 7 will be at least 10 minutes faster to calls in the southern portions of Teton County and Jackson Hole Fire/EMS will be able to provide faster secondary response service to the south of Town and West Bank.

“We have been diligently preparing for this over the past few months,” Jackson Hole Fire/EMS Fire Chief Stephen Jellie said. “Our goal is to have 24 hour/seven days a week coverage by the first of the year.”

Jackson Hole Fire/EMS says the addition of career personnel to a very active volunteer station will allow Station 7 to be a true combination of Fire and EMS, which Chief Jellie says is ideal for having the most efficient organizational staffing alignment.

“Career staff will support, bolster and fully integrate with volunteer staff, not replace them,” Jellie said. “This staffing model will allow us to serve the most people as fast as we can, and as often as we can and that is what we are here to do.”
