WYOMING – Governor Mark Gordon today signed into law HB103, Reporting of Abortions drawing overwhelming support from the majority GOP congregation at the state capital and mostly denigration from state Democrats.

The bill would require additional reporting be done by doctors performing abortions in Wyoming, and would impose fines and penalties for failure to do so in a timely manner.

Stating that the protection of life is one of the most fundamental underpinnings of Republican values, Wyoming Republican Party Chairman Frank Eathorne was at the governor’s side when he signed the bill into law this morning.

“It will be an honor to witness Wyoming’s head of the Republican Party signing this measure into law, which helps protect the most innocent and helpless among us—the unborn,” Eathorne said.

Opponents, including Teton County Democrats, call the measure an anti-choice law designed to intimidate doctors and women. Teton County Democrat legislators—Sen. Mike Gierau, Rep. Andy Schwartz, and Rep. Michael Yin—all voted against HB103.

Jackson’s Dr. Brent Blue is the only doctor in the state who performs abortions.
