According to YNP, a significant snowpack still exists in the Sylvan Pass area. Park rangers will monitor avalanche conditions, temporary road closures may occur. Due to unpredictable weather, especially during spring and fall roads might temporarily close due to poor driving conditions.

Other roads within the park will open on May 14, including the South Entrance to West Thumb. Lake Village to West Thumb and West Thumb to Old Faithful, passing over Craig Pass.

The road between Tower-Roosevelt and Canyon Village will be closed again this summer.
