Remember to give moose plenty of space. Stay at least 25 yards away, especially from a parent moose with a calf; they can be extra territorial.

The pair munched on grasses and shrubs under gathering storm clouds.

The cow was sporting a collar. In 2023, data from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s moose collaring study suggested that about half of the local moose population heads into Grand Teton National Park or up near Teton Pass for the summer, while the rest remain in the valley.
