JACKSON HOLE, WYO – All Wyoming lawmakers are toeing the company line on the House Republican tax reform plan: The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
Congressman Liz Cheney said yesterday was encouraged by the release of the plan. “The current tax code, which was put in place in 1986 is broken, overly burdensome, far too complicated, and must to be changed,” she said. “A simpler and fairer tax plan is crucial for our country and for the economy. This is a pro-growth tax cut plan that will enable folks in Wyoming, especially our middle-class families, to keep more of their hard-earned money.”
Wyoming’s Senior Senator Mike Enzi was also supportive.
“Why tax reform? Because hardworking Americans deserve better. They deserve a system that works for everyone—that will promote higher wages, more jobs, increased economic growth and one that will put more money in the pockets of folks across the country,” Enzi said.

Sen. John Barrasso stated, “Middle-income Americans have had a rough time in recent years. It’s not acceptable that 50 percent of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. We need a tax system in the United States that is fairer, simpler, and lets people keep more of their hard-earned money. Republicans are united on tax reform that will create more jobs, raise wages, and strengthen the economy.”
