WYOMING — Described as “a traveling concert circus of sorts” by The New York Times, the award-winning WYOmericana Caravan Tour is a rolling representation of Wyoming’s burgeoning songwriter scene. 2020 will mark the 6th Anniversary of the multi-act tour as well as a new collaboration with the Wyoming Arts Council. Interested musicians and bands may apply now through October 29 at WYOmericana.com.

Selected musical acts will perform individual sets of predominantly original music—with the suspense of ad-libbed, cross-band collaborations—followed by an encore set that includes all members of the tour on stage simultaneously, taking chances and blending talents. The camaraderie that grows between the musicians is harvested through stage moments and roadside attractions. The 6th anniversary tour will encompass roughly ten to fifteen shows through the Rocky Mountain Region in mid-May to early June. An educational component has also been added to the 2020 tour, engaging communities through localized workshops and all-ages events.

Founded by songwriters Seadar Rose and Aaron Davis of Screen Door Porch, the WYOmericana Caravan has been an evolution from the first eighteen-show run in 2013 through the most recent tour in 2017. The idea is to propel Wyoming’s music scene as a mobile artist collective, exhibiting to the world that there’s a creative movement in the USA’s least populated state. The most honest way to do that is simple—put some of the state’s standout musicians on the road together, not only to the wonderful people of Wyoming but to surrounding states. Past tours have featured Jalan Crossland, Screen Door Porch, The Patti Fiasco, J Shogren Shanghai’d, Canyon Kids, Sneaky Pete & the Secret Weapons, The Littlest Birds, Low Water String Band, and Dauphin.

The tour was named Top Arts/Entertainment Event of 2013 by Casper Star-Tribune and also drew the attention of The New York Times with a full-page Sunday spread, “Touring, the ‘Wyoming Way.’” A tremendous amount of support from the greater Wyoming community has made this possible, including Wyoming Public Radio, Wyoming Arts Council and over thirty past sponsors and Wyoming brands.
