JACKSON, Wyo. — Charlotte and Theodore took over the top spots for 2024 baby names in the state of Wyoming. Both names were on the top-10 lists for baby names of 2023.
The list of most popular baby names in 2024 was released Tuesday by the Wyoming Department of Health’s Vital Statistics Services. The leading names are verified through a review of Wyoming birth certificates.
Charlotte was the most popular name for girls, followed by Eleanor, Emma, Ember, Evelyn, Harper, Amelia, Hazel, Ivy and Sophia, rounding out the top 10. Theodore, the No. 1 pick for baby boys, topped Oliver, Hudson, James, William, Henry, Grayson, Liam, Noah and Waylon.
“It’s fun to review last year’s birth records to list Wyoming’s most popular names,” Kyndra Herrera, Vital Statistics Services deputy state registrar, said via press release. “Each year we see a shuffle among the winning choices.”
The announcement also included birth rates for Wyoming. There were 6,079 births among Wyoming residents in 2024, up from 5,989 in 2023. August saw the most resident births with 542, and November had the fewest least with 443.
