WILSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has announced that work on the Big Fill Slide repair project will cease until spring 2025.
“After receiving over a foot and a half of snow over the weekend, Ames and WYDOT are finally shutting down for the remainder of the winter on the Big Fill Slide on Teton Pass,” WYDOT posted to Facebook on Monday, Dec. 16. “Crews expect to start work again in April. Buckle up and drive safe out there!”
WYDOT and Ames crews had been performing night work at the site in order to accomplish as much as possible before the winter shutdown. In a November press release, WYDOT said the goal was to rebuild the permanent road by July 2025.
