WILSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced plans for a lane shift on WY390 to allow space for paving its intersection with WY22. The shift is expected to occur early on Saturday, June 15, scheduled to be complete by 6 a.m.
WY390’s two southbound lanes (approaching the intersection) and one northbound lane will shift west to accommodate concrete paving on the eastern portion of the road. Drivers turning left from WY22 onto WY390 will start from the same place on WY22 but will have to adjust to the new location on WY390. Drivers turning right from WY390 onto WY22 will use the new concrete pavement and then yield to WY22’s westbound traffic, WYDOT said.
Short delays are expected overnight on Friday, June 14, and into the early morning on Saturday while WYDOT and Ames Construction crews move barriers.
“Crews are hoping to have the intersection in its final configuration by the end of the month and plan to move traffic onto the first phase of the new bridge before the Fourth of July holiday,” WYDOT said in the announcement. “Unforeseen circumstances may necessitate adjustments to the schedule.”
WYDOT cautions drivers that they might experience occasional delays in the next few weeks as flaggers help construction trucks maneuver around the project area.
The agency also acknowledged that traffic on WY22 between Wilson and Jackson has been reduced while the Teton Pass remains closed. Drivers are encouraged to remain alert and travel slowly through the construction zone.
