Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this article reported that Women’s Health and Family Care communicated the news of their closing via an email to patients. Buckrail has corrected the article to report that the clinic is in the process of mailing letters to the patients sharing information about their closing.

JACKSON, Wyo. — Women’s Health and Family Care, a health care clinic in Jackson providing OB/GYN care and pediatric services, will close for good on Dec. 15, the clinic announced.

“It is with great sadness that we have made the difficult decision to close Women’s Health and Family Care due to financial difficulties,” a mailed letter to the clinic’s patients said. “With the rising cost of overhead, including rent, labor and supplies, our private practice is no longer sustainable. We have had the privilege of serving the community for over 30 years and plan to continue doing so, just at different locations.”

Women’s Health and Family Care communicated that they are still in the process of mailing letters to patients. An admin from their office let Buckrail know that it’s possible not all patients have received letters at the time of publishing.

Of the four doctors on staff, two will provide services through St. John’s Family Medicine. The other two have yet to announce firm plans, but each indicated in the letter that they will continue to practice.

Current patients are encouraged to call the clinic if they wish to reschedule an appointment and/or arrange for the acquisition of their medical records.

Notably, Women’s Health and Family Care is the only remaining abortion provider in the area.
