JACKSON, Wyo. — The region’s mountain ranges and areas over 7,500 feet will be under a winter weather advisory overnight Wednesday and through the day on Thursday.

The National Weather Service (NWS) Riverton Office released a weather message on Tuesday stating that the advisory will be in effect from 6 p.m. on Wednesday to 11 p.m. on Thursday. The weather conditions are forecast across the Teton, Gros Ventre, Salt River and Wyoming Ranges.

Snow accumulation is expected to be 1 to 4 inches between 7,500 and 9,000 feet, and 5 to 10 inches above 9,000 feet. Roads will likely be slick over mountain passes, including Teton Pass and Togwotee Pass.

“The wintry conditions will impact hunters and those in the backcountry,” NWS said in the advisory.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down and use caution while traveling. For winter road conditions, visit the Wyoming Department of Transportation travel map.
