JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation announced that river access at Wilson Boat Ramp and South Park Boat Ramp will open to users as early as this week, almost a month earlier than the Park Department’s anticipated opening date of April 15.
The Snake River Fund (SRF) is coordinating efforts and resources to create early access. They will begin clearing access roads and ramps on Thursday, March 16, and the ramps will be open by Friday, March 17, with the exception of unforeseen weather impacts.
The SRF will also be responsible for restroom access and facilities maintenance until Teton County Parks and Recreation takes over on April 15.
There will be upcoming construction impacts at Wilson Boat Ramp related to upland development this spring, but anticipated impacts are minimal until the fall. There may be some temporary closures or restricted access.
Please remember that early season conditions exist including cold water, unpredictable weather and unnavigable channels. Everyone is expected to boat responsibly and be respectful of river resources, wildlife impacts and private property.
For questions or concerns regarding Wilson and South Park, email Parks Manager Andy Erskine at aerskine@tetoncountywy.gov.
Down river established access and exit points in the Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) are not currently open. For additional information on boat ramps south of South Park, please reference the BTNF website.
