JACKSON HOLE, WYO – With the impressive snowfall over the past few days comes heightened avalanche activity. The Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center has elevated avalanche danger to HIGH in the Teton Range.

Mile Long Couloir slid late this morning at approximately 11am. The out-of-bounds run at the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is a popular one in Granite Canyon.

A skier triggered a slab and was carried to bottom of slide path. The victim was injured enough that Search and Rescue, as well as JHMR Ski Patrol are currently trying to figure out a way to extract the person.

On Sunday at about 1pm, a slide in Cache Creek near Noker Mine Draw narrowly missed two skiers but caught, carried (150 feet), and completely buried a third in the party. Only a hand was visible above the snow. All in the party made it out safely.

Monday morning at 9am WYDOT used their O’Bellx gas exploder to bring down a massive amount of snow at Cow of the Woods in the Hoback Canyon. The avalanche reportedly ran across both lanes of the roadway with avalanche debris 10 feet deep.
