Snow totals over the past 24 hours have ranged from 2-3″ in the Southern Tetons (JHMR) to around 6″ near Surprise and Amphitheater Lakes, while the valley has picked up around an inch. The storm system impacting the area is on the weaker side, and while skies will remain cloudy throughout the day Wednesday, only off and on light snow showers are expected with an additional 1-3″ in the Tetons through Wednesday night, and a dusting to an inch in the valley.
Temperatures are starting out mild in the valley on Wednesday morning in the upper 20s to low 30s, but will not change much over the course of the day. In the mountains at 9,000 ft., temperatures will remain steady in the low to mid teens, possibly falling slightly in the afternoon. Lows Wednesday night will fall into the upper teens/low 20s in the valley. Mountain winds became strong early Wednesday morning with gusts up to 50 mph, but will gradually decrease over the course of the day, with westerly winds of 10-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph Wednesday afternoon. Valley winds out of the south/southwest at 10-20 mph Wednesday morning will decrease to 5-15 mph in the afternoon.
Light snow showers will persist through the day Thursday with additional accumulations of 1-2″ in the Tetons and less than 1″ in the valley. Highs will reach the low/mid 30s in the valley and at 9,000 ft. highs will warm up into the low 20s with mountain winds from the NW at 10-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Another weaker storm will bring light/moderate snow to the area from Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. A stronger storm will then be possible from later Sunday into Monday.
