Skies will be mostly cloudy today with some occasional peaks of sun, but otherwise, it will be a quiet day with high temperatures rising into the mid 30s in the valley and remaining steady in the mid 20s at 9,000 ft. Higher elevation winds will be out of the south/southwest at 15-25 mph with gusts to 35 mph. A storm system moving into the Western U.S. will begin to impact Jackson Hole early Tuesday morning, but this is not expected to be a significant event.
Light snow will arrive prior to sunrise Tuesday and will continue off and on throughout the day and into Tuesday night, before tapering off around early afternoon on Christmas Day. Total snow amounts Tuesday-Wednesday will range from 2-5″ in the Tetons and 1-2″ in the valley. Most of the valley accumulations will occur Tuesday morning and Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, as Tuesday highs in the mid 30s will limit daytime accumulations and lead to some melting. Christmas Day on Wednesday will be colder with valley highs in the upper 20s.
