Light snow showers and flurries will continue across Jackson Hole through early afternoon Friday, with additional snow amounts ranging from 1-2″ in the Tetons and a dusting to a half-inch in the valley. Highs will reach the low 30s in the valley and low 20s in the mountains at 9,000 ft. under mostly cloudy skies. Winds in the mountains will be out of the west/northwest at 10-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph, while valley winds will be out of the south at around 5-15 mph.
Conditions will dry out Friday night and into Saturday morning, with perhaps some clearing skies first thing Saturday morning with overnight lows in the low to mid teens in the valley. A weak system will then approach later Saturday with a cold front arriving in the afternoon, and a round of snow developing during the afternoon and early evening hours. This will be a quick-hitting snow event with amounts ranging from 1-4″ in the Tetons and a dusting to 1″ in the valley.
Winds will become strong as the cold front arrives Saturday afternoon, increasing out of the west/southwest at 25-40 mph with gusts to 50-60 mph across the higher elevations. Valley winds will be out of the southwest at 10-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph or higher possible. Highs Saturday will reach the low to mid 30s in the valley. In the mountains at 9,000 feet, highs will reach the mid to upper 20s ahead of the front, before quickly falling into the low teens behind the front by late Saturday afternoon.
Conditions will dry out later Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Sunday will feature mostly sunny skies early with increasing clouds in the afternoon. Temperatures will be colder with morning lows in the single digits in the valley and afternoon highs in the mid 20s. Highs at 9,000 ft will be in the upper single digits to low teens. The next storm will arrive late afternoon/early evening Sunday and continue into the day on Monday with 2-day snow totals ranging from 4-9″ in the Tetons and 1-3″ in the valley.
