JACKSON, Wyo. — What is it like to live with a traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury? How does it change your day-to-day life?
The answers to those questions are hard to imagine, but they are what the guest speakers of Watershed Jackson’s annual Gala try to illuminate. Watershed Jackson aims to foster athletes back to the sports they love, surrounded by a supportive community.
It’s been called the best reason to dress up in the off-season. Don’t miss the 6th annual Watershed Gala Saturday, November 9 at The Center. The evening includes a cocktail hour, silent auction, and a locally-plated dinner by Chef Dan Janjigian, 2019’s bronze Best Chef, featuring local food purveyors Carter Country Beef and In-Season Baking Co.

Two speakers will share how they are pushing for advancements in traumatic brain and spinal cord injury. Chirs Nowinski, P.h.D, is co-founder and CEO of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, dedicating to solving the sports concussion crisis through education, policy, and research. Quinn Brett is an adventurer and multi-record breaking athlete who fell over 100 feet while climbing Yosemite’s El Capitan.
“Watershed Jackson Gala… is an opportunity not only to spend a memorable evening with active and dynamic people from our community, but it is a special evening of reflection, contemplation, and personal growth,” says Hayden Hilke. “We cater the evening to this growth experience with an intimate setting, local caterers, and regional and national speakers that aim to teach us about living life to the fullest following a life-changing event, and the watershed moments that got them there.”
Tickets are $125. Proceeds go directly into educating staff on comprehensive and progressive concussion management programs and implementing “return-to-activity” guidelines. Watershed Jackson works with local healthcare providers, physicians, parents, coaches, and athletes to incorporate guidelines into youth athlete programs.
To date, Watershed Jackson has screed over 450 youth athletes for concussions. A partnership with St. John’s Medical Center allows Watershed to reach most if not all Teton County youth athletes.
The 6th annual Watershed Jackson Gala is happening this Saturday, November 9 at the Center for the Arts. Tickets SOLD OUT.
