UPDATE: Power was gradually being restored to Victor around 12 p.m.
VICTOR, Idaho — Hundreds in Victor lost power on this frigid Monday morning.
Fall River Electric, the electric cooperative serving Teton Valley, posted to social media that it was experiencing a power outage out of its Victor substation at 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 20. As of 10:45 a.m., the company’s online outage map reported that more than 1,400 customers were affected in Teton County, Idaho, and four were affected in Teton County, Wyoming.

“The cause is unknown but a crew is in route to restore power as quickly and safely as possible,” the post reads. “Members are encouraged to turn off as many appliances, heaters, etc. before the power is restored to make it easier for the system to respond. If you have an electric water heater and know the breaker that controls it, please turn that breaker off, which will help. Crews will restore power in sections to ensure the system can maintain the load.”
