JACKSON, Wyo. — In an effort to increase safety for rivers users this past summer, the Bridger-Teton National Forest’s (BTNF) Jackson Ranger District partnered with the Wyoming Department of Transportation and the Snake River Fund to swap out older direction signs along the Snake River Canyon.

River recreationists could have noticed several new signs directing them to popular river access points on the Snake River, according to the U.S. Forest Service.

“Many of the key access points had signs that were in disrepair or in some cases non-existent,” BTNF River Program Manager Louie Shahan said via press release. “The signs ultimately make it safer for river users to access the water along this busy and winding stretch of highway.”
