UPDATE: As of 4:04 p.m. Alta Ski Hill Rd, Stateline Rd and Alta North Rd are now open. However, all county-maintained roads in Teton County, WY will maintain a “no unnecessary travel” advisory through Sunday, March 3 at 7:00 a.m..

JACKSON, Wyo. — As of 9:18 a.m. Teton County Emergency Management has announced that Alta Ski Hill Rd will remain closed for the rest of the day. Alta North Rd and Stateline Rd are also closed. All other county-maintained roads in Teton County, WY will have a “no unnecessary travel” advisory in place for the remainder of the day.

Due to the Ski Hill Rd closure and conditions, Grand Targhee Resort is closed for the day. Targhee Resort issued a statement on their website acknowledging the closure: “Due to the road closure, hazardous conditions and the safety of our employees. Grand Targhee is closed for the day (Sat. Mach 2). ”

According to a post on Targhee’s Instagram, Targhee is focusing on the safety of their employees and the needs of their guests on site. “Our team will do everything we can to get the resort back in order to open tomorrow,” the post reads.

Dangerous winter driving conditions exist across all County-maintained roads. According to an alert from Teton County Emergency Management, plows are having difficulty maintaining adequate winter driving conditions.

All Teton County-maintained roads includes roads such as South Park Loop Rd, Alta Ski Hill Rd, Spring Gulch Rd, Elk Refuge Rd, Fall Creek Rd, and Fish Creek Rd, and others. Click here for a full list.

Teton Pass remains closed at this time due to conditions and avalanche mitigation. As 5:30 a.m., the estimated open time is in 7 to 9 hours.

Teton County Emergency Management advises: “Only the most urgent of situations should warrant travel on county roads. Choosing to travel during hazardous conditions you may be interfering with maintenance personnel and their efforts to improve highway safety.”
