JACKSON, Wyo. — On Friday, June 20, the Town of Jackson Engineering Department shared its progress on the Gregory Lane rebuild project.
The project, which has been in the works for more than 20 years, will address street, stormwater and sewer infrastructure. Gregory Lane has been closed from High School Road to the pathway intersection, referred to as “Segment 1” by the project team, since June 5. Crews anticipated that it will take approximately three weeks in total to complete construction.
“We will keep you updated on any major changes to the schedule as construction progresses,” Town of Jackson Associate Engineer Jeff Silliman said in the update.
According to the Engineering Department, crews have activated the thaw well near the High School Road/Flat Creek bridge to gauge impact on groundwater levels within the construction zone. Additionally, the excavation crew made headway navigating the buried utilities near the manhole at the south end of Gregory Lane.
Silliman noted that the sewer main is expected to be installed this week. This week’s schedule is dependent upon the weather and material delivery.
Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes in the vicinity of this construction project.
“Please reduce speed, follow lane shift routes and obey traffic flaggers’ directions in construction zones,” the Engineering Department wrote via press release. “Please be aware of, and obey all construction notification, detour and parking restriction signage as it is there for your safety and the safety of the construction workers.”
Road closure information can be found on “map app.”
