JACKSON, Wyo. — On Monday, Dec. 16, Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson acknowledged Town of Jackson (TOJ) employees for their exceptional service and “going the extra mile” during her proclamation of Extra Mile Day, which was held on Nov. 1.
Morton Levinson teared up as she recognized the TOJ staff for their personal effort and commitment to the community, including teams in the Jackson Police Department, Fire/EMS, transit, Public Works, planning and building, administration, finance, IT, legal department, Jackson Municipal Court and Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department.
“TOJ staff go above and beyond by embodying Town values, including customer focus and service, openness, innovation, respect, professionalism, positive workplace, stewardship and conservation,” Morton Levinson said in the proclamation. “Staff promotes these values not only in the workplace with colleagues but also to the public every day.”
The organization, Extra Mile America, promotes Extra Mile Day to cities and people all over the country and world, and encourages people to take the Extra Mile Pledge. The goal of Extra Mile America is to create 550 Extra Mile cities in America. According to Extra Mile America, 515 cities declared Nov. 1 as Extra Mile Day in 2024.
“I urge everyone in the community to take time to not only ‘go the extra mile’ in his or her own life, but to also acknowledge all those who are inspirational in their efforts and commitment to make their organizations, families, community, country or world a better place,” Morton Levinson said.
