JACKSON, Wyo. — Nov. 1 through Nov. 8 will be Fall Cleanup Week, a time for residents to divert yard waste away from the landfill so that it can be composted locally. Jackson’s Town Council shared the scheduling details at its regular meeting on Monday.

The Town of Jackson and Teton County Integrated Solid Waste and Recycling encourage community members to clean up their property by incinerating only dry grass, leaves, twigs, small branches and clean wood. According to Jackson’s Municipal Code, overhanging branches must be pruned so they do not obstruct street lamps or street views.

Residents can pick up free, compostable paper bags to collect their yard waste beginning Oct. 27 at Town Hall and the Recycling Center. For those who participate in Fall Cleanup Day, on Friday, Nov. 7, yard waste can be dropped off on the west side of Heritage Arena, at the Fairgrounds, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Community members can also drop off up to 500 pounds of residential yard waste free of charge at the Trash Transfer Station from Nov. 1 to Nov. 8, during normal operating hours.

The Town asks community members to be respectful of the allowed drop-off times and locations.

During Fall Burn Week, from Oct. 27 through Nov. 2, residents must contact the Teton County Sheriff at (307) 733-2331 prior to starting outside blazes.
