JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town of Jackson (TOJ) is requesting that residents and businesses pause or reduce irrigation immediately until further notice while one of three water wells in West Jackson is experiencing problems.
In a news release issued on Friday, July 4, TOJ asked for help with easing the strain on the town’s water system, particularly during overnight hours. TOJ also noted that overall water supply remains adequate and that the water system remains functional, adding that there are no restrictions in place regarding household water usage.
“Town Public Works staff identified pausing or reducing irrigation now as a simple solution to significantly decrease water demand while they work to get the well repaired,” TOJ’s statement reads. “This is especially important for residents in the area west of Gregory Lane, specifically the Cottonwood Park, Indian Trails, and 3 Creek subdivisions. Because the rest of the Town’s water system is supporting West Jackson at this time, the Town asks all residents and businesses to pause or reduce their irrigation to avoid mandatory restrictions on irrigation water usage.”
TOJ added that the Public Works team anticipates being back to full service levels “sometime next week,” with an update expected on Tuesday or sooner.
