JACKSON, Wyo. — Town Council members unanimously approved Teton County’s request for an Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to allow for a 3,285 square foot expansion of the General Services Building (GSB) located at 185 S. Willow Street.

The GSB will expand from 7,500 square foot to 10,785 square feet, and is part of the wider municipal complex which houses the Clifford P. Hansen Courthouse, Teton Co. Courthouse, Victim Services, Town Hall, Jail and Dispatch.
The additional floor area will accommodate existing employees and maintenance projects.
Approximately 950 square feet will be allocated for tool storage and for the construction of an enclosed garage with one vehicle space, which is intended for a Teton County maintenance vehicle. An open carport accommodating one vehicle space will be located next to the enclosed garage. Thus, a total of two vehicle parking spaces are proposed with the expanded use.
Town Council chose to postpone making a decision on the County’s request for a new curb cut along S. Willow Street, which would provide street access to the General Services Building’s proposed garage, until the building’s design is complete. A curb cut is a graded down ramp from the sidewalk to the street. The sidewalk and bike path along S. Willow Street are designated as Safe Routes to School. Pathways Coordinator Brian Schilling recommends that a continuous sidewalk be constructed adjacent to the driveway, if the curb cut is eventually approved.
Teton County Commissioners are currently developing a master plan for the entire municipal complex site, which will include the overall floor area, campus circulation and parking demand. Included in the design are plans for the construction of a new Teton County Courthouse and Sheriff Office/Detention Facility. According to Teton County, the campus’s design plan is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
