Every year Snow King Mountain Resort puts on its traditional ski town torchlight parade. Only expert skiers and snowboarders can participate in the Torchlight Parade, but all are welcome to watch the parade light up the night sky at the base of Snow King.

On Sunday, Dec. 31, the Torchlight Parade starts at approximately 7 p.m. and Snow King’s fireworks display begins immediately after the parade ends, at approximately 7:30 p.m.

To ski or snowboard in the parade, participants must be 13 or older and for those under 18, an adult must be present and have waivers signed. Skiers are to meet at the lodge room between 6:15 and 6:45 p.m. to receive tickets and sign waivers. Participants can fill out the winter activities waiver in advance online to speed up the process. A briefing for participants will occur at 6:45 p.m. Skiers are to dress warm and wear appropriate clothes for carrying torches.

On Sunday, Dec. 31, all kids are invited to join Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s newest tradition, the Glow Worm New Year’s Eve parade. During the children’s processional, glow sticks will be substituted for torch lights and they will descend down from Solitude Station to the base.

Participation is free and sign-up is not required. Parents are not required to accompany skiers but are welcome to join. Skiers will load the Sweetwater Gondola from 4:45 to 5:15 p.m. and the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. Kids will finish at the base of Sweetwater Gondola. Come dressed in skis and boots (no poles please).

The classic Torchlight Parade will begin shortly after the Glow Worm parade reaches the Sweetwater Gondola, at approximately 5:45pm, and fireworks will follow.
