JACKSON, Wyo. — This weekend, the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) is hosting a number of events for community members and visitors!

Battle of the Bears | Bear Dog Eating Competition

Think you got that dawg in you? On Saturday, March 15, join JHMR at 12 p.m. at the Bear Flats Snack Shack for the 2nd Annual Bear Dog Eating Competition, where glory, bragging rights and a free pair of skis are on the line.

Muster(d) up the courage and relish the challenge to show you are the top dog. Wein er lose, you’ll get to enjoy delicious local Bovine & Swine sausages. This is a competition you, frankly, won’t want to miss.

The rules:

  • Both male and female winners will receive a free pair of skis!
  • Contestants must be 18 years or older to participate in the competition.
  • Contestants will have 12 minutes to eat as many Bear Dogs as possible.
  • Contestants cannot touch bear dogs until the start of the competition.
  • Bear dogs must be eaten with all hot dogs and buns included.
  • Water is provided. Contestants can have a drink of choice for competition at their own expense.
  • Utensils cannot be used.
  • Partially eaten Bear Dogs will be counted in quarters.

Skis for prize winners are donated by Teton Village Sports and Jackson Hole Sports. There will be $5 PBR tall boy specials all day. 

The Bear Flats Snack Shack is located at the base of the Sublette chairlift.

Road to Rendezvous – Free concerts in March

As the official beer of Road to Rendezvous, Pabst Blue Ribbon will be providing $4 drafts all day on Saturday along with live music from the following performers:

March 15 at 3 p.m. – Strumbucket

Strumbucket is a five-piece “twang-funk” band from Jackson, Wyoming, known for their colorful multi-genre live shows.  Drawing from a wide range of sounds, their original music weaves together funked bass grooves, banjo driven twang, latin beats, electro-psych synth lines and classic rock guitar.

March 15 at 4:30 p.m. – Henry & The Moguls

Henry & The Moguls is a pop-folk-grass band formed in the Teton Counties. The band consists of Henry Pepin on guitar, Avery Lazes on bass, Mark Engel on fiddle and Andy Gabel on banjo and dobro.
