JACKSON, Wyo. — Betsy Carlin, a seasoned educator with over 40 years of experience in early childhood education, shares her passion for nurturing young minds.
In Teton County and beyond, Betsy’s dedication is fueled by the “sparkle” she sees in young children as they explore and grow. Working in Teton County, Betsy has witnessed firsthand the transformative power of early education.
“The first five years of life, there’s an incredible amount of brain development, and it is such an important time of life for humans. It is an important time for them to have an educational foundation that allows them to learn how to think and, how to be with other people and, how to be a member of society and, pose questions and, find the answers, and find the joy in learning.” – Betsy Carlin, TSCD School Board Member
Despite Wyoming being one of only five states completely lacking state-funded early childhood programs, Betsy advocates for creating statewide systems to support early childhood education, ensuring financial and job security for educators. Through her work, she emphasizes the importance of age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate experiences provided by local organizations, which play a crucial role in the community’s educational landscape. Betsy’s vision is clear: to champion early childhood education and ensure a brighter future for Wyoming’s youngest learners.
