JACKSON, Wyo. — A 27-year-old Texas man was sentenced to 27 months for bank robbery and aiding and abetting after allegedly robbing an ATM at a bank in Jackson in October 2023.
According to a press release issued on Sept. 25 by the U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Wyoming, several male hooded and masked subjects stole ATM cash cassettes containing U.S. currency while a service repair technician was attempting to repair the ATM on Oct. 14, 2023.
The man was later stopped for a traffic violation and the deputy was able to get his personal information, travel plans and rental car agreement. With that information, investigators determined that the driver and vehicle matched the description of one of the bank robbers.
The suspect was later arrested in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on unrelated charges and a search warrant for his cell phone revealed photographs taken on Oct. 14 showing the suspect with bundles of cash.
The man was sentenced to 27 months with three years of supervised release on Sept. 12 in Cheyenne by Senior U.S. District Court Judge Nancy D. Freudenthal. According to the release, the Jackson Police Department and the FBI investigated the crime.
