JACKSON, Wyo. – The Teton County Treasurer’s Office announced that the filing deadline for the 2023 Teton County Property Tax Refund Program is right around the corner.
Applications are due by Monday, Oct. 14 at 4:30 p.m. Tax refund applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted, according to Teton County.
An applicant must have been a Wyoming resident for at least five years and the primary residence must have been occupied for more than nine months in 2023 in order to apply for last year’s tax refund. According to Teton County, a resident is a person who physically lives in Wyoming for more than half the year. However, a person does not lose their residency if a physical absence is due to State or federal government business or military service.
The State-run program, Long-Term Homeowners Exemption (HB03), which offers those age 65 or over who have paid Wyoming property taxes for 25 years an exemption of 50% of a property’s value, is open to those eligible until May 26.
Information regarding the Teton County Property Tax Refund Program can be found at www.tetoncountywy.gov/treas. Application for both programs are available at the Teton County Treasurer’s Office located at 200 S. Willow Street.
