JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Health Department’s Sexual and Reproductive Health team is hosting a low to no-cost sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing event on Saturday, June 7.
The event will be held at the at the Teton County Health Department, located at 460 East Pearl Ave., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Testing for common STIs such as HIV, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis and hepatitis C will be available. No appointments are needed to attend and walk-ins are welcome, but be aware that wait times at the event are possible. Free swag will be provided and all participants will be entered into a raffle for a local prize.
“If you are sexually active, getting tested for STIs is one of the most important things you can do to protect your health,” the event announcement said.
Various health organizations recommend that sexually active individuals get tested for STIs annually.
According to the event’s organizers, if a participant lives in Wyoming or works in Teton County, the tests will be free of charge. If neither of those factors apply to the participant, pricing will be determined by which tests they want to take, but the department will work with the participant to find the lowest possible cost for them.
