JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Health Department and St. John's Health have been dealing with a high volume of calls from people who believe they could have been exposed to COVID through contact with an infected person. County Public Health response coordinator Rachael Wheeler says the calls are hampering the ability of health officials to step through their contact tracing protocols. Wheeler added that health officials are being proactive and will reach out to anyone who may have been exposed to the virus after a known positive case is identified. “Give us time to work through the process,” Wheeler said. A 72-hour window is recommended. After that, if someone still believes they may be at risk through contact with a COVID-positive case, they should then call the health department after waiting.
