JACKSON, Wyo. — Keeping with history, Wyoming has gone red.

President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence won the state of Wyoming along with three electoral votes. The last time Wyoming chose a democrat was Lyndon Johnson in 1964.

Cynthia M. Lummis (R) won the U.S Senate seat, beating University of Wyoming ecology professor, Merav Ben-David (D), filling Senator Mike Enzi’s open seat. Enzi is retiring after four terms. Lummis will be the first woman to represent Wyoming in the Senate.

Incumbent Liz Cheney (R) beat out Lynnette Grey Bull (D) for her seat in the House of Representatives. This will be Cheney’s third term.

In Teton County, Ben-David and Grey Bull each won by nearly 3,000 votes. Former Vice President Joe Biden and running mate Kamala Harris also won the county, with early results giving them 67%.

Senator Mike Enzi released a statement Tuesday, congratulating the new electeds, “Congratulations to Senator-elect Cynthia Lummis on being elected to fill the seat I have had the honor to hold for 24 years. I know she will put Wyoming first and be a force to be reckoned with in Washington. I also want to congratulate Congresswoman Liz Cheney on her re-election to the House of Representatives. Along with Senator John Barrasso, our state will have a powerful trio serving us in Congress.”
