JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County School District #1 (TCSD) encourages the public to share their input on the two proposed schedule options for the 2025/2026 school year. Both schedule adjustments would provide more collaboration time for teachers, paraprofessionals and other educators, according to TCSD.

TCSD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Gillian Chapman informed parents in an email last week that the proposed schedule survey needs to be completed by Thursday, Jan. 30, so staff has adequate time to compile the results and prepare an update for the Board of Trustees.

After considering many different schedule options — including early release on Fridays — the Trustees made the decision to narrow down the schedule possibilities to either Option A or Option A2 during their Jan. 15 meeting. Both options would disperse 10 no school/teacher in-service days throughout the school year. The district would not offer K-5 programming during the no school/teacher in-service days. The two options vary in the length of spring break and when the school year would begin and end.

Option A: Pre-Labor Day start. First day of the school year would be Monday, Aug. 25, and the last day of the school year would be Friday, June 12, 2026, maintaining a two-week spring break.

Option A2: Post-Labor Day start. First day of the school year would be Tuesday, Sept. 2, and the last day of the school year would be Friday, June 12, 2026, changing spring break to one week.

According to Chapman, the Board will review all of the family and community input on the two options before its meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The survey is available here.
