JACKSON, Wyo. — With Jackson summers heating up and energy costs rising, more local homeowners are making the switch to a smarter, more efficient way to heat and cool their homes: heat pumps. Energy Conservation Works (ECW) invites residents to learn why and how at a free workshop on June 11 with HVAC professionals from Big Horn Heating and Cooling.
“What’s Up with Heat Pumps? Part II” will take place Wednesday, June 11, at 12 p.m. at the Teton County Library’s Ordway Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

This timely seminar will explain how heat pumps perform in Jackson’s mountain climate, what installation looks like, and what homeowners can expect in terms of comfort, cost, and maintenance. Heat pumps are highly efficient systems that provide both heating and cooling by transferring heat rather than generating it—making them up to three times more efficient than traditional electric resistance and a cost-effective, all-electric alternative to conventional HVAC systems.
Big Horn Heating and Cooling will share insights from the field, answer common homeowner questions, and demonstrate what makes heat pumps such a compelling solution for year-round energy efficiency. Attendees will also hear from ECW about available Lower Valley Energy rebates, low-interest financing options and federal tax credits that make it easy and affordable to upgrade.
“This is one of the most practical upgrades a homeowner can make to improve comfort, cut energy use, and reduce emissions,” said Megan Jennings, ECW Program Manager. “With available rebates, tax credits, and financing, there’s real momentum building here in the valley. We want residents to have the tools and information to make confident, cost-effective choices.”
