JACKSON, Wyo. — Those who have lost loved ones to suicide are invited to gather on Saturday to observe International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will aim to facilitate connection, understanding and hope for people who have experienced this kind of loss. Participants are encouraged to bring memories and stories to share to celebrate the lives of their loved ones. Refreshments and keepsakes will be provided.

The Community Prevention Coalition of Teton County is co-hosting the event with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In September, Jackson held its first-ever community walk for suicide prevention and awareness, a co-presentation by the Community Prevention Coalition and the Teton County Health Department.

The day of remembrance will be held on Saturday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church. RSVPs can be sent to beverly.shore@wyo.gov.

If you or someone you know is struggling right now, reach out for support. You can always call or text 988 for free and confidential support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If you are uncomfortable talking on the phone, you can chat the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988lifeline.org.
