JACKSON, Wyo. — ‘Tis the season for road construction. Ahead of winter weather, the Town of Jackson (TOJ) has announced that roadway patching work will be happening across town in October.
In addition to the ongoing work repaving Snow King Ave. and downtown alleyways, road patching work will run from Oct. 6 through Oct. 17, depending on weather. Expect lane closures and detours along with traffic control flaggers around the patching work. Work is expected to happen on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with weekend work possible as necessary.
This week, construction crews are finishing up mill and overlay work, a two-step asphalt paving process to create a smooth and even road surfaces
The section of Snow King Ave. between Cache and Vine Streets will be closed for the mill and overlay work until the end of the day on Friday, Oct. 3, weather permitting. Sidewalks on both sides of the avenue will remain open.

Mill and overlay work is also scheduled for several alleys off of Redmond St. and Glenwood St. from Wednesday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 3, weather permitting. The following alleyways will be closed: the alley west of Redmond St. and north of Kelly Ave.; the alley west of Redmond St. and South of Hansen Ave.; and the alley west of Glenwood and north of Deloney Ave.
“We will coordinate with residents and businesses for access,” TOJ’s press release states.
Drivers are asked to obey “No Parking” signs and traffic flaggers’ directions in construction zones, and to reduce their speed and follow lane shift routes around the patching work. TOJ thanks community members and visitors for their understanding and patience.
