Storm causes closures, delays

JACKSON, Wyo. — A winter storm has put much of the morning on pause in Teton County.

Teton County School District is on a two hour delayed start this morning due to winter travel conditions. Busses will run their normal routes, just two hours later than normal.

Central Wyoming College’s Jackson and Lander campuses are also closed for the day.

N Highway 89 between Moose and Moran is closed until further notice due to strong winds, blowing and drifting snow, and limited visibility. An estimated reopening time is not yet known.

The rest of the state is faring even worse. Every road leading in and out of Casper is closed this morning. Much of I-80 is closed completely or at least to light, high-profile vehicles.

Stay safe out there.

UPDATE 8:50 a.m.: Highway 89 is open between Moose and Moran but a “no unnecessary travel” warning is in place.
