WYOMING — Wyoming State Parks (WSP) is joining park systems across the country in waiving entrance fees on Friday, Nov. 24, the day after Thanksgiving, for the annual Opt Outside event.
The sixth annual Opt Outside event is a day for all to get outside, give thanks and spend time in nature, according to WSP. Families are encouraged to choose to “Opt Outside” as an alternative to Black Friday shopping.
The National Park Service suggests listening to natural sounds, watching wildlife, fishing, and exploring starry skies as wonderful ways to Opt Outside.
Wyoming is the home to 12 state parks: Bear River State Park, Boysen State Park, Buffalo Bill State Park, Curt Gowdy State Park, Edness K. Wilkins State Park, Glendo State Park, Guernsey State Park, Hawk Springs State Recreation Area, Hot Springs State Park, Keyhole State Park, Seminoe State Park and Sinks Canyon State Park.
Wyoming State Parks is also offering free entry into all its archaeological sites and historic sites on Friday, November 24.
