JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — START Bus is announcing plans to increase fares across the board in the near future. Public input is encouraged via email or in person at a START Board meeting beginning 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Town Hall.
Town Council and Board of County Commissioners will have the final say, expected to take place at a meeting on February 3, 2020.
Monthly passes would jump from $105 to $130, a single ride to Teton Village would increase a buck and a half to $4.50, and a new annual commuter pass is proposed for $800.
START staffed
In other news, START is pleased to announce it is fully staffed headed into the winter season. Past years have been troublesome for the mass transit operator but thanks to housing incentives, pay increases and other stepped up efforts, START has more than 70 operators hired for the new season.
“We are clearly in better position at this point than compared to last winter season,” START Board members declared in a November 14 staff report.
