JACKSON, Wyo. — START has announced that buses will be decreasing their speeds on Teton Village Road (WY390) between Stilson and Teton Village to help limit the possibility of wildlife collisions. Starting today, buses will drive 30 miles per hour instead of the posted nighttime speed limit of 35 miles per hour from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m., dusk to dawn.

The change is meant to be proactive. It’s fall, which means it’s also rutting season for many ungulates in the valley, and animals can be more active and unpredictable during this time.

By slowing speeds, START hopes to keep passengers and bus drivers safe and reduce the chance of impact with a large animal.
