Star Valley High School in lockdown briefly this morning as threat is investigated

STAR VALLEY, WYO – Buckrail is attempting to learn more about a developing story out of Afton, Wyoming. Earlier this morning the Star Valley High School was in lockdown due to an unspecified threat. The lockdown has now been lifted.

Lincoln County School District #2 released the following statement regarding the lockdown of Star Valley schools today: “Under the direction of law enforcement, the precautionary lockdown instituted at Star Valley High School and LCSD#2 for student safety has concluded. No specific threat has been validated and it has been deemed safe to return to normal schedule. Law enforcement throughout the district has been involved and will continue to monitor the situation.”

Earlier this morning, the high school, along with Lincoln County School District #2 admin buildings, were in a “precautionary mode” following school safety protocol due to a threat that was investigated by law enforcement and administration.

Additional law enforcement presence can be expected today at all Star Valley School buildings as a precaution.
