JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The heatwave will finally break this week…at least on the Elk Refuge. The weather forecast calls for snow Tuesday through Saturday at the historic Miller House.
Here’s why.

LL Bean is using the local setting as a backdrop for a catalog shoot this week and since the images are slated to appear in the Christmas edition, models will be garbed in flannel and fleece amid high sunshine and temps approaching 90 degrees.
To make the scene fitting for the season, the LL Bean production crew will create and apply artificial snow to the areas appearing in the pictures. Models will be sporting the company’s new line of winter clothing, and an array of props will add a convincing element to the seasonal look.
To add to the ambience, the National Elk Refuge staff plans to stream holiday music during the event, and the Grand Teton Association sales outlet located inside the historic homestead will have several ornaments for sale that day.
Visitors are welcome to watch the professional photo shoot, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, July 17 and Saturday, July 21 beginning at approximately 12pm.
No photographs will be allowed, however, in order to prevent images from being shared prior to the catalog’s public launch in November 2018.
The historic Miller House is open daily from 10am – 4pm. Gates to the historic property will close at 4pm as regularly scheduled; public access to the Miller House grounds will be restricted to only the production crew outside of designated business hours.
