JACKSON, Wyo. — Thanksgiving has come and gone, but hopefully the refrigerator is full of leftovers and happy memories were made by all.

For those who stayed home to cook, eat and watch football, here’s what took place out in the valley yesterday.

Quite a few dogs and one pet turkey ran the Turkey Trot. The cold didn’t stop runners from hitting the pavement at 9 a.m. to burn some calories before a mid-day feast.

The start/finish line was at the Stilson Parking Lot, and turkey trotters made their way toward Wilson on the bike path before looping back around to Stilson.

The Elks Lodge served up a free community meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing and more. Pie was in no short supply for dessert. The annual Thanksgiving Dinner hosted by the Elks is a fundamental part of the holiday celebration in Jackson. Anyone is welcome to attend for any reason. Volunteers make this event happen every year, and sometimes more than 100 people show up.
