WILSON, Wyo. — Let there be (more) light!

The Annual Winter Solstice Celebration at Rendezvous Park (R Park) took place last night, with the community gathering to celebrate the shortest day and longest night of the year that will occur next week on Dec. 21.

Hosted by the Jackson Hole Land Trust, this community-favorite event is funded by a grant from the Jackson Hole Travel & Tourism Board.

Beginning last night, R Park’s trail system is now illuminated by 300 solar lanterns designed by local art students from schools across the valley. For those who were unable to attend the R Park Winter Solstice Celebration or who want some extra holiday cheer, the R Park Lantern Trail will illuminate every evening until Jan. 2, 2023.
