JACKSON, Wyo. — On Wednesday, June 19, sunny skies brought out residents and visitors alike in search of locally produced clean food and sustainable crafts during the second Slow Food in the Teton’s People’s Market of the summer season.

The People’s Market is a weekly gathering space for local farmers, ranchers, food producers and artisans. The free event is held on the Center for the Arts’ lawn from 4 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday until September 25.

Local offerings include produce, meat, dairy, eggs, bread and more. Each week live music creates a festive atmosphere as community members peruse all the in-season vegetables, local cheeses, regionally harvested meats, beverages and a selection of goods. All prepared and packaged food vendors are required to use local or regional ingredients in their products.

According to the People’s Market, in 2022, the market supported 120 local and regional farm, ranch and packaged food vendors, and welcomed over 15,000 attendees, facilitating $448,000 in direct-to-consumer sales.

The People’s Market is a a zero-waste market — so be sure to bring a reusable cup and bag. Market patrons are encouraged to walk, bike or ride the START Bus to the Center Park. Dogs must be kept on a leash and are not permitted inside market booths.
